Three Situations That Require An Emergency Boiler Rental

Every day in the United States, about 43,000 commercial boilers are operating in a variety of industries including automotive, food processing, and pharmaceuticals. These companies that depend on boilers use them for a variety of reasons, including sterilization, heating their building, and generating power. When the boiler goes out, it poses a huge problem. Thankfully, there is an option to rent a boiler until the broken one gets fixed.

Besides having a malfunctioning boiler, here are three more situations that require an emergency boiler rental.

1. The Boiler Unexpectedly Requires Repairs

In order to meet certain state and/or city regulations, companies need to get their boiler inspected on a regular basis. By law, the boiler inspection must be done by a certified inspector. These inspections are important, as boiler mishaps can be extremely dangerous. To maintain safety in the workplace, the boiler should be operating as it's supposed to.

If something is found during a routine inspection that could pose a safety hazard, it's imperative to get it fixed right away. When this happens, it may be necessary to rent a boiler until the repairs have been completed.

2. The Facility Is Hit with a Natural Disaster

If a facility experiences some kind of natural disaster, such as a hurricane, tornado, flood, or major blizzard, it could disrupt the boiler or stop it from working altogether. Renting a boiler is especially crucial when facilities need to maintain standard operations.

Most companies that provide boiler rental services during natural disasters have portable boilers available that are either skid-mounted or trailer-mounted boiler systems.

3. There Are Delays with Boiler Replacement

If the boiler is not as energy efficient as it once was, or there are loud banging sounds coming from the boiler, it may be time to get it replaced. If it is beyond repair and it does need to get replaced, one of the worst things that can happen is experiencing a delay with the boiler replacement. Such delays could be caused for a number of reasons including:

  • The replacement boiler is not going to arrive on the day it is supposed to
  • There is no one available to install the new boiler system
  • It is taking longer than expected to get the new boiler installed

It can take anywhere from 20 to 40 weeks for a boiler to be ordered, delivered, and installed. If there is not a sufficient plan in place, delays could happen quite easily. If they do, renting a boiler is a viable option.
